The occupation permit professional is intended for foreigners who are employees of companies incorporated under Mauritian law.

Note that this permit is subject to a constraint. The employer undertakes to pay a salary in excess of 60 000 rupees (~1500 euros).

For the time being, only the new technology sector is exempt from this rule. The minimum wage for a foreign employee employed in this sector must be more than 30,000 rupees (~750 euros).

The professional occupation permit allows you to live and work in Mauritius for a period of 3 years.

The application for occupation permit professional must be made by the employer.

As with all residence permits, this permit is issued to the person who applies for it. It gives the right to applications for dependent residence permits for spouses, partners and children.
